Sparkling Day is a luxury event planning organisation. For their brand identity design we did a research on how the glow is produced. Surface irregularities: The surface of an object that produces a glow is not perfectly smooth. Contains tiny imperfections such as dings, cracks, scratches or dings. Based on this, we used a dark background with irregularities on its surface with characteristic sparkles. To maintain balance and elegance, a grotesque sans serif font in white was used to bring clarity to the image.

We were also asked to remove the word "Day" from the wordmark, replacing each of the letters with a different asterisk. These asterisks mean 3 different things. Firstly, they pay homage to the old wordmark with the word "Day", secondly they look like sparkles but with a more modern and graphic approach and thirdly they will be used as a brand symbol. Overall, in the first solution we wanted to make clear the new direction of Sparkling by designing a more elevated and serious image in a modern, minimalist and semiotic way. This project was done in collaboration with Vestart.
